Donya Keys
Principal of En Pointe, Classical Dance School

En Pointe was personally selected from a range of very talented York Culture nominies to publisise the award through the York Press, BCC Radio York and an interantional photographer.

You can view our ballet school entry on the York Culture Awards website. We submitted the creative and professionally performed ‘Dance of the Seasons in production with En Pointe’ which all the En Pointe dancers took part in earlier this year at Joseph Rowntrees Theatre. It was such a success and not only was it great for the audience but the dancers themselves to. It's this kind of artistic cultural community led event that the York Culture Awards are seeking for. It has been a real honour and with our entry came a call from Kay at ‘Make It York' (who is joining our adult ballet classes now) who invited us and five young ballet dancers for a photoshoot in the streets of York with two photographers and BBC Radio York. You can hear what was said on the link.
