Building a dream, building a dance school
En Pointe was a dream for me, and when I took the leap to build a dance school in York it was super scary, I could never have thought that it would have become the success it is today. I built these walls that my students dance in, that I teach in and that we perform in. I want to share with you that you can follow your dreams.
Of course there was failure on they way, but with that made me become stronger and more determined.
Since opening En Pointe Dance Studios we have been on BBC 2 ‘Our Dancing Town’, BBC Radio York, we’ve won multiple awards, taught hundreds of students dance classes, started teaching 7 days a week, taken on 7 fantastic dance teachers as well as being a mum and wife to my two beautiful girls and supporting husband.
I’m not one to really sing my praises as it feels awkward and big headed but it’s important I think to give yourself a well-done for the achievements we’ve made everyone and then. As a culture we rarely look how far we come.
Ever since I was 2 years old I loved to dance, when my parent could see as I grew up that Ballet was what I loved and enjoyed the most they invested in me. I spent my early adult life working hard, training to become a dancer at a vocational ballet school. From there I worked for a companies until I found teaching.
